Buttons!!!

Look! A new button!

The Great Mofo Delurk 2007

I found the link to Schmutzie over at Misc Mum.

Why didn’t I think of something like this? Because I don’t get many comments anyway. Because I don’t know how to make buttons. Because I don’t think outside the square enough.
But honestly I am guilty of this. I comment on a few blogs but I feel a little strange commenting on others. I comment if I feel strongly about something and I comment if I want to show support, but sometimes I can’t think of anything to say that hasn’t already been said.

So now I have a button (isn’t it shiny?) and I will try harder to comment on blogs.

Now do me a favour, de-lurk and comment on mine!

Today

by Veronica on September 30, 2007

in Life

I have been feeling funny the last few days.

In a perfect world I would be blaming these things on early pregnancy, but the world isn’t perfect so forgive me if I am a little sceptical.

My period is due in 6 days if I am having a 4week cycle or 3weeks if I am having a 6week cycle. Lately I can’t be sure what is happening.

Ahhhh well, I’ll be right. The week is just dragging a little.

It’ll happen when my body is ready (or when we get around to having enough sex).

Today Amy seemed to do everything in leaps and bounds.

I sat her down to eat lunch (homemade chicken nuggets) on the floor with a plate and a fork.

She was determined to eat using the fork and spent most of her time stabbing the nuggets and then eating them.

The one nugget that just wouldn’t get onto her fork, she picked up and used her fingers to pop it onto the fork before eating it. I was very proud.

She also learnt to climb onto the couch. The final frontier. My last place to escape to and she can climb up here. Oh dear…

The Great Booby Fest

Ok I was recently over at Her Bad Mother, who had a link to The League of Maternal Justice who had these cute little buttons for me to stick on my blog.

Well yes they are cute but they are also meaningful. There will be a virtual nurse in on October 10th at 10am, to protest against Facebook deleting pictures of breastfeeding babies, but leaving up photos of half naked girls and pro-anorexia profiles.

You can get a button for your blog here.

Join in, show your support and breastfeed, bottlefeed, or reminicse about it on October 10th at 10am.

All Is Good

by Veronica on September 28, 2007

in Life

Well after everything is said and done, we are all good.

Amy has been sick, but the viral rash appeared today and she is on the mend.

The weather is foul – windy and cold with a little rain thrown in – but we have wood and the house is warm.

I am tired, but we cleaned the house last night so I don’t have any housework to do.

Amy has been clingy, but she is currently napping so I am free.

I have run out of ice-cream and chocolate, but a supermarket trip is scheduled for this afternoon.

Prices of vegetables are going to go through the roof, but I am putting in a garden so we shouldn’t have to buy too much.

There is nothing on TV, but I am listening to music anyway.

And did I mention that Amy is napping? Naps = Sanity savers.

It’s a good day.

On The Way Back Up.

Amy is improving.

Her temperature is coming down nicely and the antibiotics have started to make her ears feel better.

She hates the taste of the nurofen, so I have to mix it with a little fruit juice or cordial to get her to drink it, but it is working.

We had a few issues at bedtime getting her to take her medicines that resulted in a screaming fit, but changing her nappy resulted in a screaming fit as well, so I’m sure it will pass as she gets better.

The antibiotics give her the runs, so we have gone through 8-9 nappies today (on a normal day we go through 3-4 nappies).

But she crawled over to me and kissed me. She threw her arms around my neck and burrowed in. She giggled when I kissed her tummy and she played alone for a few minutes at a time.

She is getting better and I can’t wait.
