34 weeks, or 37 weeks?

by Veronica on July 20, 2012

in Pregnant. Finally.

Here I am, pregnant. This is today’s photo.

If I was better with photoshop, I could have fixed all of the flaws, but I’m not and I didn’t.

The question is Internet, how far along am I? 34 weeks? Or 37 weeks? No one can really decide.

But! Considering I have an entire Internet at my disposal, I thought I’d ask your opinion. For comparison, I’ve included photos of my pregnancy with Isaac.

2008 Pregnant with Isaac 33w

33 weeks with Isaac.

37 weeks

37 weeks with Isaac.

39 weeks.

39 weeks with Isaac.

To be honest, I feel closer to 37 weeks and the prelabour supports my theory.

If you’re so inclined, leave your best guess in the comments, as well as when you think I’ll finally deliver. Official due date is 31st August, and the recent ultrasound dates said the 6th of August. Nathan has put his money on the 2nd of August and I’m saying anywhere in the next two weeks.

The winner gets to know that they are awesome.

Id say 37 to 38 weeks. I will put my (nonexistent) money on aug 3 only cause that’s my mr 2’s birthday.

I just think you know better than anyone what is going on. I would be very surprised if the baby is not born, full term, in the next fortnight. (If this is a double post, can you please delete one of them?! Thought I had posted, don’t see it, and I have a habit of having several tabs open at once and then closing the wrong one…)

WHAT FLAWS? you look gorgeous … my money’s on about 36 weeks, 13 August delivery … xt

Anne July 20, 2012 at 9:57 am

Hmmmm…I say 37 wks, maybe Aug. 5…

Jessiebean July 20, 2012 at 9:59 am

I would say that if you are measuring ahead YOUR feelings are correct, however I am having bouts of pre-labour and measuring spot on for 34 weeks and I am 33+4 so the pre-labour might not be an indicator of early delivery. I chart my cycles though and have no reason to suspect that I might have conceived earlier than official dates and you do have reason… My vote goes for whenever YOU think you will deliver- a woman knows her body best esp. after two previous deliveries!

From your posts and tweets I’m guessing you’re 37 weeks and Baby will be arriving sometime soon. Good luck!

Nicki July 20, 2012 at 11:22 am

Defintely 37 weeks & based on your pre-labour experiences – I think your baby girl will be here next week sometime… I hope I’m wrong though so you have time to recover from being unwell. Sending you lots of support & strength for the coming weeks xox
PS – I’m a regular reader (from Sorell, Tas) but have never commented before.

Well Veronica, considering that you and I are booked in to have High Tea next Sunday the 28th I will hope that this little one makes an appearance on the 5th of August or the 2nd of August. But I never ever guess these things correctly so it will probably be tomorrow πŸ™‚ xoxox

you look beautiful. With our second, in 1994, I had four dates including 5 August. She eventually came on 22 August, well and truly overcooked with peeling fingers and tummy. The doctor had started an induction at 4am and nothing was happening until noon. Noon was the cutoff to do more gel and labour started then. Two hours later and she was here! My theory is the induction didn’t work and she came of her own accord. We had to be 100kms away from home to have her and I think she waited until the doctor wouldn’t wait any longer. He kept saying we should let nature takes its course! Would August first suit you so baby can share Horse’s birthday? Praying Baby comes before 22 August nice and quickly! smiles.

I’m going with the 37 weeks, you know yourself better than anyone. I don’t think she will be born within the next week though, she hasn’t “dropped” yet, she isn’t even lying low. I’ll say August 3rd or 11th. A nice healthy 7 1/2 pounds.

Veronica July 20, 2012 at 4:46 pm

She’s actually fully engaged and the doctors were surprised at how low she is! She was kicking LOTS while I took today’s photos though and the shape of my belly is different in every one.

I am going out on a limb and saying 22/7 so make sure you are packed!

Jayne July 20, 2012 at 8:12 pm

I reckon 25th of July, just cos you and your mum are booked for high tea on the 28th πŸ˜‰

Bri July 20, 2012 at 8:21 pm

I nab August 2nd as it is my Husband’s birthday; August 14th as it is my Dad’s birthday and August 22nd as it is MY birthday! LOL

Marita July 20, 2012 at 8:21 pm

My birthday – 9th August.

Not that I’m biased about that date or anything πŸ˜€

sleepydwarf July 20, 2012 at 9:52 pm

I’m going for 8 August because I think 8/8 would be a very cool day to have a birthday πŸ™‚

LOVE the photos! Pregnancy is amazing & so is the body that comes with it. My son was a term baby but my daughter was a 27 weeker… and I really missed out on the best part of the pregnancy (the last few months). I am envious when I see big beautiful bellies, stretch marks & all. Truly beautiful =)
Recently found your blog & am enjoying the read. Come say hi & good luck xo

Denyse July 21, 2012 at 12:03 am

Sheesh! Whatever you write I will agree with. You have carried 3 children to term (you know, your version) and you have had such times dealing with ED & all that ..you can choose the Birthday… Go girl. But do have High Tea with Mum first. Ok? Deal. Xx

Kathy July 21, 2012 at 10:19 am

8 August FTW. It’s my eldest’s birthday and a GREAT day to deliver a baby girl πŸ™‚

Jennie July 21, 2012 at 9:10 pm

Your belly is looking lovely, no need for photoshopping anything at all!

Bub will come when you and her decide it is time. But I dare say it will be before your ‘due’ date.
My girl’s due date was 15/08 but I knew we weren’t going to make it to that, but it ended up only being a couple of days out. On the 12th when I was getting ready for bed I decided I was definitely having her the next day, and Iabour started in the early hours and Ez was born the 13th.
You’ll know when it’s time for her πŸ™‚ Hope it all goes smoothly for you πŸ™‚

Enid Bite'Em July 22, 2012 at 8:32 pm

I’m not guessing … just wanted to say this is a BEAUTIFUL photo (who needs photoshop?). Good luck.

Veronica July 24, 2012 at 2:39 am

Saw the first comment on the bloggess’s post was a Veronica who is pregnant, and I had to stop over! I am due with my second august 27th, and she is acting more like she will be coming at the beginning of august as well!

Veronica July 24, 2012 at 2:56 am

Oops, just read this is your third. My bad. But still! Oh-so-much in common! πŸ™‚

Veronica July 24, 2012 at 6:36 am

Ha, I love how things work out! Our due dates are almost identical (31st Aug here) and I reckon I’ll see a baby in the next week. Nice to “meet” you!
