It looked terrible. It’s not just me who says it. I’ve heard it over and over when I visit friends. Why do we do it? Why do we apologise?
This Mid 30s Life: Outsmarting the Heathrow Injection. I created this blog soon after moving to London with my husband and two small children.. My blog is about a little bit of everything. Thanks for hosting this Veronica. Am looking forward to reading through the list!
Thanks Veronica! Can’t wait to start reading these!
Ooh, fantastic – can’t wait to get reading!
Yah, thanks for hosting, will start reading today 🙂
Thanks so much for hosting, will be reading as many as I can today.
oh wow – there’s my week of reading sorted!
Thanks for hosting this month.
I managed my reading in a day. Obsessive? Maybe. Hehe.
Thanks for being our beautiful hostess this month! xo
You’re welcome! Rather annoying I couldn’t make the ‘grab code’ thing work. Stupid wordpress.
Oh thanks so much for hosting us this month, and thank you for including me in such awesome company. Looking forward to doing lots of reading, laughing, crying, and commenting. xo
Oh YAY! Will be back later with a cup of tea!
This is just bloody awesome. So many fantastic blogs and posts in one place. Will have to RSS as many of these as I can.
From next year I’m going to be a SAHD, so I can watch your thoughts from the outside.
Cheers.
You do know we’re looking for an Aussie daddyblogger for some paid work… Maybe you need a blog to complement your twitter account.
Oh really? That would be so cool. I’ll be at home for at least the next two years with twin girls whilst doing further study.
I have a website (www.geoffrollins.com), so maybe your prompt will be the impetus for me to add a blog as well. Cool!
Sorry, double post…
That’s okay 🙂
You should add a blog, I’m always after new ones to add to my reader and twin girls, what could be more fun?

Veronica, thank you for hosting. Off to Tweet now…..
@Geoff – I suspect I “know” you from another place – HUGE congratulations on the twins!
Lucy, one and the same. Been a long time! I recently left the forum for good. Couldn’t handle it anymore. I really missed your contributions, Cat Deeley. You were my favourite admin EVAH.
Oh Geoff, how funny, I had forgotten all about Cat Deeley – you just made me splurt coffee on my keyboard. Again. Time changes nothing….
Geoff, I suspect that you will find a whole new (and much more mature and interesting and enjoyable) online community via blogging, especially if you are going to be a SAHD.
Off to stalk your website now……xx
Thanks for hosting, Veronica. I’ve got 2 sleeping kids, a cuppa, and I’m ready for the wild ride of reading these posts.
Oh THANKYOU Veronica — I now have a bunch of lovely new blogs to keep me from the Dreaded Housework.
*rubs hands together happily*
Procrastination: My favourite thing ever.
Thanks for hosting, lovely.xx
Crikey! I haven’t read last year’s carnival posts and it’s carnival time again already? Oh Boy. Time flies.
These are the monthly ones from AMB – they do come around quickly though!
Just finished reading – talk about an amazing array of posts!
Oh I just got through them all! Some good varied readings this month 🙂
SQUEEEE! So loving this blog carnival!
Finished! Loved it! Just one thing. Oh blogspot… why does leaving a comment have to be so hard??
I know, there is all the clicky clicking and the captchas (HATE captchas) and things. Blogger should create a spam filter thing so we can do away with captchas.
As you have closed commenting on the other blog, I will write here publicly.
By your own admission, Veronica, and I quote:-
“If I missed something, which is possible, then that is because I am human”
Your blog has upset someone, so if the information in that blog is incorrect, why have it, as it is misleading.
You have been asked, kindly, to remove the blog as it contains incorrect information, but you will not.
All of the negative comments posted by others haven’t taken in to consideration that this blog is factually incorrect. There is nothing illogical about that, as some have suggested, it is as plain as day. You cannot post a blog about someone where the facts may be wrong, or maybe, in your eyes that is ok.
Seriously, What world do you live in?. Just because YOU think something is factually incorrect that doesn’t make it so and if I asked kindly if you could take a walk of a cliff would you do it??. The internet is not the land of milk and honey, if you read something you don’t agree with or upsets you simply click away.
Could I respectfully ask that you piss off and get a life?
Nat3ds
I don’t think that it is factually incorrect, I know so, all the evidence is there, if you want to find it. Obviously you haven’t bothered.
Geoff
Yes I will, once the fake blog is removed, I mean that most respectfully and without any malice.
Please read this:-
Veronica has freely admitted now that she may have made a mistake with some of her ‘facts’, and I quote Veronica, from the blog in question:-
“If I missed something, which is possible, then that is because I am human”
This makes a complete mockery of her blog, how can you accuse people of things, when your information is or may be incorrect – that was our problem. Don’t lie about people, very publicly, and then expect them to lie back and take it, that is why I responded.
Also, I have asked Veronica several times for the original (twitter) screenshots that she has very carefully edited for the blog, but she just ignores me. Instead she has demanded that I provide the twitter timeline myself, but I have repeatedly told her (and everyone) that it is freely and publicly available on the internet, if anyone can be bothered to look.
They won’t, because I have already pointed out that there are some discrepancies when compared to Veronica’s blog, which of course, comes as no great surprise.
Unfortunately for Veronica, her reputation is on the line now, and we do not want her to suffer, we just asked her to remove the ‘faked’ blog, but she said, and I quote again, “no”. Maybe it would be just too hard to back down now.
Remove the fake blog, and all this will go away.
I didn’t screenshot the entire tweet stream, as TAS tweeted so many links I couldn’t get the @ replies to frogponds all in the one screenshot.
Instead, I screenshotted things – pasted them into photoshop and then cropped the tweet that mentioned frogpondsrock from amongst everything else and saved that part. I am not savvy enough with photoshop to know how to do much more than that with a screenshot, hence the reason they are seperate images on the post, not all one image.
I used the time stamps on the tweets to put the conversation together in the order the tweets were tweeted.
I’m explaining this for anyone else who might be interested. Like you said, the tweets are in the public timeline, so anyone else can check this.
“Remove the fake blog, and all this will go away.” W T F?. I have read everything thus my first comment. Sometimes with self obsessed insular persons such as yourself it can be immpossible to take any form of direct/indirect criticism and instead have to lash out. This type of behaviour is fairly commom on the net and can lead to suicide.
You obviously haven’t read exactly what is really going on here.
You are really self-righteous, get to know the facts first before making your ill-informed judgment.
But you have added other tweets that didn’t belong to that conversation to make TAS look bad, in favour of your mother. Adding tweets from other conversations to embellish your point, makes it totally fake, which as you say, everyone can check.
The casual viewer of your blog isn’t aware of this one very important detail, that frogpondsrock is your mother, is not mentioned in your blog at all, and which means that it is a faked blog, with a bias and hidden agenda, please remove it.
You really don’t get it, do you? This blog has really offended someone, a blog which is totally fake, and you should remove it, if you have any honour at all.
I have had vehement attacks, extremely rude emails, swearing, fake twitter accounts created to abuse TAS, because your mother was extremely rude on twitter, and got blocked, so, to get her revenge, everyone has had to endure this rubbish.
I have also had some very serious threats, all documented by the way.
When the blog is removed, I will go away and forget this whole sorry mess.
“I have had vehement attacks, extremely rude emails, swearing, fake twitter accounts created to abuse TAS”. Now who’s telling fibs?
You have no idea what has gone on, see what I have said above, you really are blinkered.
Veronica has freely and publicly admitted now that she may have made a mistake with some of her ‘facts’, and I quote Veronica, from the actual blog in question:-
“If I missed something, which is possible, then that is because I am human”
This makes a complete mockery of her blog, without any truth in it, it must be a work of fiction.
Oh shit! I’m sorry I have gotten it all wrong, you must be in so much pain. It’s okay I have a plan, we blow up the internet so your never hurt like this again. It’s a very simple process, on the count of 3 close your eyes turn 180 degrees and walk forwards. Ready 1..2..3..GO.
See above
All that was asked, was to remove a faked blog that deliberately put down someone, with false information, which part of that don’t you understand?
1. I understand what you refer to as a “faked blog” is actually a post.
2. I understand that sleepless nights was using the info from twitter to make a point of what happens when main stream net tech can cause misunderstanding AS AN EXAMPLE and not to hurt anyone.
3. I understand this is a trustworthy blog site and I have complete confidence that all information is true and correct to the best of the authors ability.
4. I understand that you seem to be making other people very angry with your continued bashing of a blogger who is both professional and entertaining.
Well, you have been misled. Veronica has admitted she may have made a mistake with the twitter timeline, which actually makes someone else look bad.
If she didn’t want to hurt anyone, she should have made sure that the twitter tweets were kept anonymous. Please read my previous comments, again, as you seem to have missed some key points as well.
It is obviously not a trustworthy site as people believe. If she were so honest, trustworthy and cared about not hurting people, she wouldn’t have made excuses, and then told us to go away. Maybe she would have even apologised.
Have all the confidence you want in this site, but it may blinker you to the fact that it is a distorted and factually incorrect post.
These blogs are only entertaining if they don’t offend people, but they have, and Veronica and her mother being rude diminishes their respectability a great deal, and maybe that is why everyone is so angry. It is difficult to admit that you have made a mistake, and to keep face.
Just remove the post and all this will stop, then she can become a respectable blogger again.
Phew! I just finished reading them all and I’m so glad I did! Thanks so much Veronica!
