Banana’s in Pajama’s.

in Amy

This morning I was woken up by Amy singing the song from Bananas in Pajamas.

Which would have been all well and good, had it been slightly later than 4am. Shortly after the singing commenced (I was trying to sleep through it) I hear a little voice.

‘Mummeeee! Mumeeeee! Mumeeee!’

‘What?!’

‘Drinkee empty. Need milk please’

‘Oh.’

A drink of milk was produced and Amy settled back into bed nicely. Only to start singing the Banana’s song again. And again. And again.

When she got sick of the Banana’s song, she started on Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. And then she had conversations with her toys. And played with her books.

All before 5am.

So at 5am, just as Amy was falling back asleep (and therefore, I was too), Nathan’s alarm went off for work.

I should have just given up and gotten out of bed.

Somewhere around 6am, Nathan left for work, Amy fell back asleep and my pain killers kicked in enough for me to fall back asleep too. (I had a tooth pulled yesterday. I don’t recommend it to anyone.)

At 8am, Amy was awake for the day, singing Banana’s (AGAIN!) and complaining of a pooey nappy.

Sigh, I could have handled sleeping until 10am at least. Think I can train everyone to leave me alone until then?

If you liked this, share!

No probably not. My little brother, who’s 10, still wakes my parents up at 6am on Saturdays. But good luck, with trying.

Hope the rest of the day was an improvement lol! Our younger son used to get up with the sun so, in the Summer months, would come into our room, pull open the curtains and announce ‘S’mornin’ time! Up you get!’ No he wasn’t very popular either.

I feel for you – it’s 4:44 am here right now….and after getting up with the girlie, and getting her back down…then getting up with Bad, and getting HIM back down…I’m up. But I don’t want to be. Think they’ll let me take a nap around 9? Yeah…me neither.

LOL, and you’ve got a few more years of that coming!

Think you can train everyone to leave you alone…?
That would be a big fat NO.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Sorry to hear about the tooth. I’m trying to save mine with root canal treatments. Ouch in the mouth AND in the wallet.

((hugs))

Sometimes being the mummy sucks… but then other times they run up to you, give you a huge hug, and tell you they luff you. Not that it helps when you’re trying to sleep at 4am… but still, it’s something to cling to, right? ;)

Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.

Now, how annoying is that!

Oh, sorry to hear about the tooth – I’ve got one that needs to go and a bridge put in it’s place and I’ve been putting it off going on a year now.

Oscar woke me at 5:51am. All I wanted to do was sleep past 6am for the first time all week. I guess they are just trying to get us ready for the new babies, right?

Reading this, I kept thinking “I must be the meanest mother EVER.” Mack cried from 6am to 7am this morning and I could NOT drag myself out of bed to go get him. I just kept falling back to sleep and eventually… after an hour, so did he.

You know, my Delaney is a lot like your Amy. But finally – FINALLY – around about 3 and a half, she decided that she could be awake in the morning for a little while without us. I don’t know how long, but at least 20 or 30 minutes. It’s nice… Wish I could train #2 to do the same…if he’s awake, we are ALL awake!

We’re in the middle of the re-training to just sleep through the night – it went out the window when all our summer house guests were here. He cries and fusses and I remind him that he needs to sleep all night long like a big kid. Seems to work for him. of course, so far it has been three nights of crying/fussing every couple of hours, but better each night. The first time it took about a week.

I’m amazed that they gave you x-rays and painkillers while you’re pregnant?! My dentist wouldn’t touch me except for cleaning.

Have you thought about soundproofing her room?

tiff September 22, 2008 at 8:58 am

Oh Veronica!

That sounds like a sucky morning. Hope Amy found a different song to wake you up with becuase Bananas can wear you down after a while!

Hope your mouth feels better too.

Best of luck with the training. I have been trying to train for years now with no success!! Even my husband gets in on the waking up action!!
