Bipedal Baby

in Isaac

Oh dear. He’s gone and done it. He’s turned into a toddler.

So, uh, can I ask, what happened to my sweet, biddable, snuggly baby? Since when does he have tantrums and flail his limbs and stuff?

And today (oh god, today). Today I stood him up in the middle of the floor and stepped backwards. And you know what he did? He walked.

He walked to me.

3 steps and fall. Help him back to standing.

5 steps and fall. Help him back up.

EIGHT STEPS AND FALL.

He’s growing up.

And now he’s walking it seems.

I don’t think I can call him the baby anymore.

He’s a fully fledged toddler and I’m not sure I like it.

Sob.

Oh! It’s so hard when they grow up. Such mixed emotions. It’s good, it’s bad, it’s wonderful, it’s sad.

Here’s to your next adventures with your new toddler boy.

Wow he has grown up so fast.
Isaac has gone from baby to toddler in the blink of an eye.

Awe, how cool for him! E just figure out how to get herself sitting. They grow so darn fast don’t they? Unbelievable!

Oh joy untold. TWO of the little darlings running around the place, because, as you know, he will only WALK for a few days and then it’s time to RUN!!! Yay!

Time to start on baby number 3?!? =)

Pia March 18, 2010 at 4:51 pm

Yup – my kid didn’t get the memo either.

Don’t they know that they are not supposed to grow up before we are ready for it?!?!?!?

my daughter just recently began walking as well. She’s growing up too fast. I’m afraid to blink or I might miss something.

It’s bitter sweet isn’t.

Sad that the baby is gone, but YAY! he’s walking! Now watch as he realises he can reach so much stuff that he couldn’t before. Ha Ha

And well done, Isaac…walking!

Very cool :)

Aww, it’s bittersweet seeing them growing up like this isn’t it? Yay that he’s walking but at the same time boo cause he’s not your lil babby anymore.
Looks like it’s time for another lil one for you… *cough* ;)

Barbara March 18, 2010 at 11:28 pm

Blimey – surely he was only born a couple of months ago!

Yay that he’s walking but sad that you’ve lost your baby – maybe Marilyn’s got the right idea? ;-)

Awww! How wonderful!! I feel the same way about Andrew. Seems like only yesterday we were swaddling him up and snuggling and now he’s screaming and trying to wriggle away from me. :( When I was pregnant people would tell me to enjoy him while he’s little because they grow up so fast, I never believed them….well now I do.

I’ve mourned almost every milestone my second daughter passed. I was happy for her, but sad for me.

Go, Issac, go!

I had a similar moment with Miles yesterday. He was chasing Oscar across a field. He never even looked back for me. Not until he fell, anyways.
