Dude!

Apparently I have this main blog here that I’m not meant to neglect while I post every day on my foodie blog. However, you look a touch neglected. How long has it been since I updated you?

What?

Only 2 days?

Sheesh, it feels like forever!

What with my morning sickness returning (I would love to give a big shout out to my HORMONES here, because apparently? they are responsible or something like that) and Amy being needy and grumpy and the stress about Thursday happening.

So updates. Because I am much too slack to write a real post about anything. (Please head here to read the Best Of posts. Everything from vibrators to bad mummy moments to mice. All your reading pleasure in one handy dandy spot)

Amy seems to be flip flopping from happy go lucky child, to TODDLER OF DESTRUCTION AND DEATH AND UNHAPPINESS. So yes, it’s been pleasant here with Amy about. It doesn’t help the poor child that I am spending a good portion of my day wanting to vomit, therefore making me a crappy play partner. Sorry kid. We have been playing outside alot, but only as long as Amy plays and I can sit with my head between my knees and watch her.

Why yes, it has been fun.

The smaller pokier child (you know, the one I am still gestating?) has discovered my ribs. He spends alot of time testing how far he can push them before I crack up and poke him until he moves his feet elsewhere. (Answer: not very far. My ribs are not nearly as bendy as my wrists).

My contractions are mostly small and painless, kept under control by drowning myself in water on a regular basis. As long as I stay nicely hydrated, everything stays cramp free. The downside though? All this drowning in water has left me running to the toilet every time I stand up, sit down, look sideways or actually you know, move.

Even with all the hydration though, I am still having more Braxton Hicks contractions than I would like. Last night I had an hour of uncomfortable, period-pain like contractions despite all the hydration. They weren’t close together and they certainly weren’t labour, but it still makes me wonder if he will wait until January to arrive.

January would be nice. I like January. January is a nice month to have a baby.

Oh and finally, Thursday stress. Tomorrow is Thursday. Thursday is tomorow.

Tomorrow Mum, Nan and I head down to the doctors to get the results of Nan’s latest CT scan. You know, the one they did after her radiation treatment? The CT scan that will tell us what her tumours are doing and how everything is looking?

Yes.

The results of that CT scan.

Tomorrow is a big day.

If you liked this, share!

Hugs baby, and fingers crossed. Oh – since it’s (almost?) summer there, here’s something that keeps my kids happy for ages outside while I just sit in a chair and watch. I give them a big pail of water and an old paintbrush (the kind you’d paint the house with) and let them ‘paint’ the house. It sounds boring, but they LOVE it.

And my best friend had Braxton Hicks for 5 months. So you might be miserable, but the good news is that there’s a good chance your little athlete will stay exactly where he’s supposed to until January. More hugs. And more fingers crossed. :)

I’m wishing good things for your Nan today. And I second the idea of the bucket of water and paintbrush for Amy to paint the house with. I did this with my tribe in summers past, it was always great fun. They painted the fences as well as the house, sometimes they painted each other…….
