Chocolate, How I Love Thee

by Veronica on October 29, 2007

in Life

I went to the doctor the other day, just to touch base (again) and to see if he had any new ideas for managing my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Uh yeah, I don’t like his new idea.

Apparently I am to go a month without chocolate (chocolate people!!!) and see what happens.

See what happens? I may just kill my family due to stress. I told him that I would start the trial when the chocolate supplies in my house ran out. Soon people, very very soon, I will be out of chocolate (does the cookies’n'cream icecream count?)(what about the chocolate topping?)(and the milo?)(oh no! the drinking chocolate).

I think I am going to die.

How am I going to cope? I have a period due soon and I WONT HAVE ANY CHOCOLATE!!!

I think Nathan may leave me. Oh dear.

NOTE: If I was really serious about this trial I would be giving up cheese as well, however my doctor rethought the cheese when I told him that I would waste away to nothing, as cheese and chocolate are really the only fat I eat. Ever.

I think trialling no cheese will be for next time. Like never!!!

i’m so sorry that you’re dealing with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome…that must be tough. i’m constantly tired because of my Post Partum Depression…i can’t imagine how bad it is with CFS!

giving up chocolate sounds a little…harsh? that’s just inhumane!;-)

thanks for visiting my blog earlier!

The tiredness that comes with CFS is probably the easiest bit to ignore. It’s all the other stuff that sucks.

Giving up chocolate is akin to torture, but hey, if it helps who I am to complain.

I can’t imagine dealing with PPD, you are doing an amazing job.

Giving up chocolate just seems so unfair. It’s like giving up love.

I hope all goes well!

It is sooo unfair! I will see how it goes though.

Chocolate-chronic fatigue–nope, I don’t see the connection. There must be something else you can try.

NO CHOCOLATE???

NO CHEESE POSSIBLY.

*curls up and dies just at the mention*

I know your pain… had to give up all dairy when we were having the breastmilk issues.

Hang in there! (I hope you live.)

I can imagine giving up chocolate… I just don’t want to. Boo! What a bad thing to suggest, just as Halloween is around the corner. Even if you don’t celebrate Halloween, you still can’t be expected to give up chocolate. It just ISN’T done. Haha.

Good luck, lady. You are a trooper!

Oh, I couldn’t give up chocolate. You poor poor woman. Giving up chocolate would make me want to sleep all the more.

Apparently there is something in chocolate and cheese that can trigger headaches.

As I have had a headache since Feb 02, I am trialling no chocolate to see if it helps.

Possibly the type of chocolate? My youngest can eat Nestle Double Blend chocolate, but everything else gives him a migraine. It’s like coffee, all the freeze dried granulated brands give me migraines, but the International Roast instant is fine for me.
