Sorry I know it’s abit late but only just read your post, I can relate to how you feel because when I lost my Nan 5 yrs ago my world ended and then my son was born almost exactly 9 months later. He’s my world now and I kind of see him as my Nan’s last gift to us. He’s obviously never met her but he talks to her sometimes and calls her his “special nanny”. Not a day goes by when I don’t miss her or wish that I could have one more day with her, one chance to hug her and say thanks, but I know that she’ll always be with me. Have you tried writing her a letter I did that to my Nan just to say goodbye check out my post http://mumtoj.wordpress.com/2010/04/22/dear-nan/ I found it hard to do but felt better after I had finally done it and said goodbye. x ((hugs))

How are you coping?

my Nana died a few years ago. She was bed-bound for a long time, and the kids remember that she always had a bowl of candy by her bed for them to choose from when they visited her (Most of them don’t remember too much else than the candy). We now have a fancy bowl of ‘Nana candy’in our house, to dip into. Every October we celebrate the Mexican Dia de los muertos, which celebrates the reunion of dead relatives with the living family. We have a whole month of mexican crafts, food, and Nana remembering – her favorite foods, hobbies, stories of funny things she did. She lives on in our house.

I’m sure your Nan will live on in your house as well, she is such a big part of your life.
