How I Came To Be Doing What I’m Doing. Part 5

Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4

I originally only signed up for Myspace because I wanted to check out someone’s photos and I needed an account to do so.

After setting up a profile, I was hooked. I found all my old friends that I hadn’t seen because I was working too hard, I read blogs, I generally interacted with other human beings. It was fantastic.

I blogged a little over there, but mostly just read blogs. Eventually I stumbled on Sarah’s blog. She was funny, she made me laugh and she had all these commenters! (Go visit her, she is blogging in a proper place now and she still makes me laugh so hard).

Lotus saw one of my comments on Sarah’s blog and she sent me a message and friend requested me. (Ha! She sent me a friend request!). She subscribed to my blogs (which I didn’t think were very good) and inspired me to write more and to write better.

After a while, I had read all the good myspace blogs. I googled for ‘Australia breastfeeding mum blog’. Yeah, original I know. I found MiscMum. That night, I read every single blog in her archives. From her, I was introduced to other great blogs. Myspace started to lose its appeal so I signed up for a blogspot blog.

Since then, I have been blogging my heart out, loving the writing, reading other blogs and loving on my commenters.

I moved over to self-hosted wordpress and fumbled around, I created a forum for other people to use (come on over and sign up! I would love to have you) and I am generally having a ball.

I like being able to tell everyone who saw me fall pregnant so young, “I’m the owner and Administrator of an online web forum, oh and I host my own webpage.” It doesn’t bother me that I am not earning anything doing it, or that I don’t have many members (have you signed up yet? Yes, I’m shamlessly plugging it, shhh now) I can now say that I am doing something that doesn’t involve poop.

I mean how cool is that? I love doing it. I love where I am at right now and I can only see myself moving forwards.
