Real life just makes me tired

I write here, a lot. In fact, WordPress tells me that I have published 1061 (now 1062) posts here in the last four and a half years. Hundreds of thousands of words, hundreds upon hundreds of stories.

But some things are not my story to tell and so I walk away from the computer, tired with real life and unable to sink into storytelling like I otherwise might.

There’s things going on at the moment, family things, and while I could blog them if I get permission (and may, yet), it’s Nathan’s story, not mine.

I’m tired, Internet. I’m tired of dramas and pitchforks rabblerabblerabble and feeling like everything I mention online requires weighty substance. I’m sick of justifying why I’m not blogging about charity X Y and Z, or why I’m not donating time, or making more noise, or Doing Good Works.

Can’t I just write stories, without feeling the pressure to give them a moral resolution.

(Yes, yes I can and I will burn my guilt on the pyre of your pitchforky flames)

And in the scheme of things, are our Internet rabblerabblerabble’s terribly important?

Tired.

Out of energy.

Take care of yourself; that’s more important than the interweb (yep, all of it).

Dramas really are draining aren’t they. I have considered making a new blog, for the things I really want to get off my chest, something annonomous. Is there any such thing in the blogging world? Anyway, take a step back if you can, and breath.

You don’t have to blog or justify or not blog.
It’s your life and you don’t owe anyone anything.
Rest up.

Remember why you started doing this in the first place and the feeling it gave you when you sat down to your keyboard to type. Return to your “happy place” and the heck with the rest. Life is too short to waste time doing something you don’t like. Go back to your core values and what made you happy. If they don’t like it…you don’t need those readers. You are far more than your audience. Good Luck! It’s your life…no one elses.

Veronica,
I am going to tell you, I’ve been reading your blog for a long time, and I’ve enjoyed almost every single one of your posts. You’re a great writer, and a great storyteller, and not everything has to be about something.
Some of your posts that I enjoy most are the “nothing to post” posts, with a tidbit of your day, and a photo with a bug in it. Or a child with a snotty nose, or a sunset with those amazing colors, or “Hey internets, a duck! Be amused.”
Having said that, I’m a horrible blogger, sometimes going weeks on end with nothing new, and suddenly *gasp* 2 posts in a single week? Shocking!

We all love you, even if you have to ignore us for a while.

Having a blog is having somewhere for you to speak, no one else, about what you want to. Hope you feel better soon.

Blog whatever the hell you like. There’s no reason to feel guilty for wanting to be *you* in your own space, for goodness sake!
*hugs*
Hope the tiredness lifts soon xxxx
