Okay, so normally I vlog my reviews, but I suspect if I’d vlogged the She-Tea review, I would have spoken for longer than the 2 minute limit I set myself.

At the Aussie Bloggers Conference, She-Tea inserted samples into the swag bags. When I got home, the swag got packed away and my tea sample ended up in the back of my cupboard.
I found it a bit over a fortnight ago when I was cleaning out the pantry and I popped it next to the tea bags as a just in case tea. I’d been lucky enough to end up with their “Happy Hippy” sample, which is a chai blend and I’m rather a big fan of chai.
Last week, I ran out of chai tea bags and noticed, again, the sample sitting on the shelves. I hunted out the tea pot and reminded myself just how much I prefer loose leaf teas to teabags (something I always have to remind myself of, because tea bags are just so simple) and made myself a pot of tea.
There is something about the ritual of making a pot of tea that I like. I’m not a coffee drinker and usually, I pop a teabag in my cup, and walk away while the kettle is boiling, only to remember a few hours later that I was going to have a hot drink. I don’t usually forget about the tea pot however.
After I tried the chai, looked at how much was in the sample (not enough to make me happy) and headed over to the She Tea website to see if I could buy online.
Yes, I can buy online, but I ran into a small problem. There are so many different delicious sounding types of tea, that I didn’t know what I wanted to order.
So I emailed them, to see if I could get some samples to review and work out what I wanted to order. Jodie was lovely and she emailed me back that evening, saying that of course she could provide me with some samples.
I’ve haven’t been quite as excited about a sample arriving in the mail as I was when my tea samples arrived. A bit like a kid at Christmas, I now had 6 different types of tea to try and try them I have.
As I’m writing this, I’m drinking “Bitch is Back” which is a black tea, caramel and vanilla blend, which I’m rather a fan of.
My kids adored the “Superhero Juice” which is a blend of berries. I loved it too – it’s been quite a while since I drank such a good berry blend. The one I used to drink at Nan’s when I was a kid, I’ve not seen in shops for years.
I tried the “Zen” last night and while I still slept terribly, it wasn’t the fault of the tea, which has chamomile, passionflower, rooibos, peppermint, linden, hops and lemongrass. I’m going to be trialling this one as a before bedtime drink for the kids.
I’m not a alcohol drinker, but because of my Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, I wake up feeling nauseous a lot of mornings. It’s not my idea of fun, but that’s life. One of the samples I was lucky enough to get was “Booze Hound” (Dandelion root, calendula, red clover, ginger root, nettle, elder flower, spearmint and hibiscus flower) and I tried that this morning when I was feeling less than stellar. It actually did what a lot of teas don’t, and settled my stomach quite nicely.
I’ve still got a few to try, “Warrior” (Orange pieces, mandarin peel, black tea, cinnamon, cloves, natural flavours) which I’ll try tonight and I’m waiting to hear back from MumĀ about the Green Tea with Jasmine (I’m not a green tea fan).
I definitely definitely recommend these guys if you like tea and you want to try something a bit different. The quality and flavours are fantastic and I will be buying some for myself as a treat. I’m really interested to try the “Motherhood” tea, which is described as an apple pie in a cup, as well as the “Love” blend.
The only downside is that it is, like I mentioned, loose leaf tea, which is a bit more work and a bit messier. Even with that, I think it’s definitely worth it.

I was SO pleased to read this – I have been umming and ahhing for MONTHS wether it would be worth me trying some of the She-Tea teas…I also have EDS and suffer from almost constant nausea and also sleeplessness so was particularly interested in trying Booze Hound and Zen. Also I LOVE chai (especially vanilla chai!) and berry teas but rarely come across a nice one.
Reading your experiences has made me jump straight onto ebay to look @ teapots (I have NEVER made a loose leaf tea before…and I’m nearly 26…) and I am going to speak to my fiance tonight about letting me buy some She Teas

I found the Booze Hound was great just for settling my stomach and it was just pleasant to sip. I’m drinking the berry one right now and it’s seriously delicious and the kids love it.
I think Zen would have helped me sleep too – but my painkillers make me hyper. I’m going to test it out on a day when I’ve managed to get through with just panadol and nothing stronger.
