I have no doubt that many sites will be removed from the public. "WoW constantly changes, how can we be sure that it will be okay in the future!" or "That site has a lot of user developed mods, what if someone makes one that is rude!". This kind of thinking will inevitably appear, and all forms of "uncertain" sites will be blocked. It won't stop illegal activity (there are thousands of proxy blockers), but it will just annoy honest people.
Signed the petition.

I saw this on the internet news and thought it was sort of "joke". How could this be allowed? So rather than shut down the truly bad sites (childp*rn) they use a broad stroke against everyone. Less work for them. Horrible.

Veronica, it would be *very* easy to apply against one's political enemies. It doesn't much matter who is in power now... the effect will eventually be the same. Many "accidents" will happen, and likely they will not begin with the rich and famous. They will be lulled that this is "working" until the noose is too tight to wiggle out of.

It sure seems to me that democracy and free speech is not popular with anyone these days...

Yes, you should. Currently, that isn't in their policy though. And there was no mention what recourse you have for an accidentally blocked website.

If they are going to do this you should be able to apply to them with the websites you want if they accidentally get blocked.
