I did tell you on twitter that this wasn’t all that exciting, just exciting for me.

You know what you need to do when life is stressful? You need to add more things to the family, so you don’t have any time to worry about anxiety or panic attacks.

So would you please all welcome Susie, the newest addition to our family.

Our Newest Addition

Susie

Please, ignore the fact that my feet are purple in that second photo. I’m a bit EDS-y lately.

Susie’s Mum was a Springer Spaniel x Border Collie and her dad was a purebred Springer Spaniel. This is the closest to a purebred dog I’ve ever owned in my LIFE! Normally I go in for mongrels (like Seven, she’s a terrier x daschund something mix), but Susie needed a home when I needed a puppy, so here she is.

I suspect we’ll have a bunch of OMG puppy stories coming, but for now, she has fit in really well. Seven is following her around, doing nothing but wagging her tail and trying to lick her.

The cats however, they’re not too keen. Both of them still look a little like I plugged them into an electrical outlet. They’re going to be sulky for weeks and I fully expect a display of decapitated birds to be awaiting me when I feed them tomorrow.

Hehe.

Kristin January 28, 2010 at 4:33 am

Additions? Or addictions? 🙂 Very cute. That’s good that you have a puppy because you don’t have nearly enough to keep you busy you lazy girl.

The cats are surely plotting.

Martin January 28, 2010 at 5:16 am

She is very very lovely. Love the belly.

Incidentally, my only pet was a Red Setter/Spaniel mix, wonderful nature.

Tanya January 28, 2010 at 8:16 am

She’s beautiful!

I cant wait to stop moving so I can have a puppy again.

Tanya January 28, 2010 at 8:17 am

I meant renting. I need some more sleep.

jean January 28, 2010 at 8:44 am

I miss puppy breath. How sad.

achelois January 28, 2010 at 9:39 am

she is gorgeous – my mother in law has an identical version as does my sister in law )the dogs are sisters. Although they are way older than your beautiful girl. I see their mum and dad each day as they were gotten from a chap in our village. They are energetic and bark and bark and bark at everything. Mum and dad are working dogs, but kids are spoilt in a very responsible I love my dog way! This dog will keep the children so very entertained and hopefully give you a break. So I have given you a doggy story ha ha. Is it just me but I can’t see your feet in the picture…

Wishing happy doggy days, she will provide much humour and no doubt much chewed furniture, socks, and tales to look forward too. She is simply gorgeous lucky you.

Joyce-Anne January 28, 2010 at 2:45 pm

Awww. She’s very cute. I can’t wait to hear about of her antics!

river January 28, 2010 at 4:19 pm

Welcome Susie. You are so cute. I want to rub those lovely little ears and tickle her tummy.

talina January 28, 2010 at 4:37 pm

Too cute!

Speaking of decapitated birds, that doggie looks like the springer spaniel I once had… It caught birds and played them to death because spaniels are bird retrieving dogs.

Ma be many dead birds in your future.

Barbara January 28, 2010 at 7:27 pm

I’ve just realised why I no longer harbour particularly strong desires for babies anymore. I NEED a puppy!

She’s gorgeous – Hi Susie.

tiff January 28, 2010 at 9:13 pm

Awwwww, she is a gorgeous little thing.

Puppies are fun to introduce when there is much stress. Just ask Chippy the small sausage dog. he was a stress addition. He can relate.

Ashlie - Mommycosm January 28, 2010 at 11:26 pm

She’s very sweet! And I bet she has great puppy breath. I <3 puppy breath!

Kath Lockett January 29, 2010 at 9:56 am

There is nothing more heart-warmingly beautiful than a puppy’s smile.

…..in fact, I devoted an entire month to these wonderful animals in December!

Sass January 29, 2010 at 11:39 am

Not exciting for anyone but you?! Whatever! I’m thrilled for you and totally envious of you!

Lindie January 30, 2010 at 11:53 am

I love Springer Spaniels! I had 2 of them about 14 years ago but they are gone now. Their names were Shasta and Sherlock.

Lindie January 31, 2010 at 5:39 am

Funny, I just watched Friday’s Oprah show. It was her birthday and she got herself 2 14 week old Springer Spaniels!

Mary January 31, 2010 at 11:25 am

Oh god, now I have puppy envy!! I used to get a new puppy or kitten every third year on the nose — then I had kids. Now I seem bent on a mission to keep adding more mouths to feed to the house too. She is SOOOOO cute. It will be a pain in the rear, but she will be worth it. Dogs are teh bestest. Cheers!
