Blogging means I make amazing friends.

When I started blogging, I’m not sure what I was expecting. I know that I loved reading blogs by other women, blogs that meant I didn’t feel quite so alone.

I didn’t expect to make such good friends, and I have. Plus, I’m still making them every day.

Like minut’d’automne who lives in France with her twins.

This morning a box arrived at my front door and I was thrilled. I mean, look how it’s packaged!

(never mind the disembodied hand, that’s Isaac)

Isn’t it beautiful?

I felt like a kid at Christmas actually, rummaging through a box, discovering treasures through the whole thing.

There were books – lots of books.

As well as some french caramels (probably the reason the box was searched by quarantine, however, everything was deemed safe, thank goodness) a pair of pants for Isaac and a lovely top for Amy.

Plus lots of stickers, which Amy promptly claimed and stuck everywhere. Hehe. Isaac still has a glittery horse on his cheek that he hasn’t noticed. I can’t bring myself to peel it off.

So thankyou so so much. I love it and I’m looking forward to immersing myself in books for a while.

Blogging is fantastic. I’ve made amazing friends.

While we’re talking about friends, I met with a bunch of Tasmanian twitterers last night for drinks and cheese (or, in my case, mineral water). That was good fun and I’m looking forward to hopefully doing it again another time, so that I can meet those people who couldn’t attend last night. You can see Mum’s recap blog post for that here as well as links to all the twitterers and their blogs.

Aww that is wonderful. And I spot an Isabel Allende book in there…she’s one of my favourite authors!! Enjoy 🙂

It really fantastic. I’ve met so many wonderful, uplifting, amazing friends online, like I never thought I’d know in my life.

Love the decorations on the outside of the box! Just beatiful.

That is a very splendid parcel. It surely is wonderful here in the interweb 😉 Happy reading!

Beautiful, too. Heh.

So lovely! Totally agree – there are some awesome people out there. I have made so many wonderful friends online.

Books and food are two of my favourite things too!

Wanderlust June 11, 2010 at 4:59 pm

Wow, how thoughtful! The box alone is amazing.

I’m so glad it reached you and much faster than I expected. I’m happy my books found a new home so far from mine that even the weather is “upside down” and where they can enfold their stories. Did you like the carambar? They’re quite popular here. There is a second box that was mailed on the same day, tomorrow maybe, but tomorrow is already today for you isn’t it?
This pleases me as much as you!
Bonne journée

The carambar are delicious and gluten free too, so Amy is enjoying them!

I bet Amy was enchanted by such a beautiful arrival in the mail.

How fun! That reminds me… I really owe a (snail mail!) letter back to a blogger friend.

You are certainly right, blogging (and tweeting) are great ways to form friendships over this crazy internet. Except now that I’ve branched into new territory (with a 2nd blog with a completely different topic)… it feels like I’m the new kid in school all over again. xD

Rachael June 13, 2010 at 6:34 am

She’s sent you some of my favorite books and authors. Remember to come up for air occasionally for those of us who enjoy your writing.

Tanya June 14, 2010 at 11:54 pm

I don’t know if you can track your visitors…but I’ve been over about 4 times without commenting I think. So if you’re wondering why, thigs just keep coming up….sorry. hehe.

Beautiful package!!!

I’d be very excited 🙂
