Weekly Winners! And I Have No Internets

Well hopefully the move went well. I am posting this Saturday morning in my last bit of internet time. I don’t know how I am going to cope!

The house on Friday was THE most disgustingly dirty house I have ever had the misfortune to be in. Luckily, with a team of workers (family, thanks guys!) we got the house pretty spotless.

No photos yet because the camera cord is still packed. So today, I have photos my Nan took on Tuesday.

Hopefully I will see you all when I emerge from the other side of this move. Will have photos and horror stories aplenty.

Loves you! Mwah!

Looking into the Future

by Veronica on March 1, 2008

in Life

I’m trying to look into the future and write, because I won’t have any internet for a while. (Probably not until Wednesday! How will I cope? My head is going to explode, not to mention my inbox.)

It is currently Thursday night and for once, I have a rhythm happening with the posting.

If all went well today, then I dropped Amy off at Mum’s between 8am and 9am, only to run around like a chook with it’s head cut off (yes, I grew up with lots of animals, mostly used for food) packing the rest of the house.

My Dad was due to arrive around 9am (eeeks! very early! no time for internets checking!) with our mate and a trailer to start to move our furniture.

As this posts, it will be midday Saturday. Hopefully everything has gone well so far and will continue to do so.

However, things have a funny way of not going quite to plan, so stick around for a post about what ACTUALLY happened, because as amazing as I am, I can’t look into the future.

Unfortunately.

And hey! I might even have a bunch of photos for you guys!

To keep you entertained in my absence (because I know you are missing me like crazy!), I have an award to give out. One of many, but I don’t have the energy for a bunch of them.

Burgh Baby’s Mom (hurry up and tell us your name, please?)thinks my blog is fabulous. Or maybe she thinks I am fabulous, she wasn’t really clear.

There are a few people who deserve this.

Taz, because even though I haven’t had a chance lately to chat on MSN, she still leaves me lovely comments. Plus, she has the most adorable daughter ever.

Tara, because I mentioned I would like a sling for Amy and asked what she used. She promptly advised me and then sent me a bunch of photos of her using various slings/carriers with her children. Oh my word is she helpful! I *heart* her.

Lotus, because I’m not sure, but she *may* be suffering from an award crack withdrawal (not as severe as comment crack withdrawal, but not nice either) and because she has been sick. Here is hoping that by the time you read this, you are completely better.

Lou, for his amazing post asking for people to toast my new house. It made me all teary! Thankyou so so much.

And last, but not least to Leslie, Tasina, Frogpondsrock, and Anja for jumping in and defending me when I needed it.

You guys are all fabulous!

Yellow Booties

by Veronica on February 29, 2008

in Life

Okay okay, I KNOW today is the international blog365 day of rest. But hey! I am a sucker for punishment.

Simply Gorgeous

Because I received the most amazing booties in the mail from Tiff, I just had to post about them. Her Mum knits them to give to women with fertility issues.

I did take my own photos of them (and their gorgeous wrapping) but my camera cord is tucked away in a box somewhere and I am just hoping and praying I can find it (and some internet access) in time for my Weekly Winners.

Tiff says on her post about them

When I was trying to conceive I read about an old wives’ tale. It went something along the lines of; a pair of yellow booties knitted and given to a couple trying to conceive, would bring them good luck in fertility and a pregnancy would occur soon after the gifting.

So there! They work really well according to Tiff. Not this cycle because I am on the pill (yay! sex=fun!) but next month when I stop taking it.

Tiff, thankyou so so much. They made my day when I saw them in the mailbox.

Enter the Bitch Pills

by Veronica on February 28, 2008

in Life

My doctor put me back on the pill today. So when Mum asked if I had taken my bitch pills today, she was right. I had. (I *may* have been picking on my little brother. He *may* have deserved it. That’s my story and I am sticking to it.)

So, let us enter the time when people in the supermarket will piss me off.

My head might get to exploding point with people I don’t know and I may just feel the need to swear a little louder in your general direction.

ESPECIALLY if my daughter decides that she is feeling sick and is in pain and proceeds to cry and scream through the entire shopping centre.

Do not comment in my hearing about tantrums. I have a sneaking suspicion that this may be a tummy bug or an ear infection and both cause projectile vomiting. I can and will use this to my advantage. She is SICK, not grumpy.

If you are the pharmacist I am trying to buy Nurofen from do NOT ask us 100 questions before you sell us the medication.

Yes, she has had it before. She is 18mths old and I know how to administer it. Yes, she is definitely in pain, NO she is not having a tantrum. See above for tantrum comments.

Do NOT suggest that we may want to give her some now. Do we look stupid enough to HAVE painkillers and NOT USE THEM for my obviously in pain daughter?

Okay, are we all together now?

Amy settled down and was her normal self about half an hour after the Nurofen was given. She has had 3 diarrhoea nappies (yes, don’t you love how I share these things?) and has been gagging, but not vomiting.

I hope it is only a 12hr thing.

So yes the pill.

I am back on it to stop the bleeding and also to maybe help us with the TTC. We spoke about it and because I fell pregnant within a fortnight of coming off this exact same pill before, we figure it can’t hurt to try it again.

I am sure I will have further things to blog about regarding the pill (can we say depression? Libido loss? Extreme Bitch-Face-from-Hell syndrome? Tears at the drop of a hat?) but I am hoping that I don’t have any major side effects from it this time around.

Also, a big shout out to Lou, who has written a post about us moving over at Lotus’s blog.

We did our final inspection today and there were a lot of things that didn’t get noticed when the house had furniture. However, all of the things are very fixable. We shall just call the house a renovators delight and we shall delight in renovating it.

We will be collecting our keys about midday Friday (tomorrow for me, as it is 8.30 Thursday right now) and we will be heading up to bleach disinfect make sanitary clean the place tomorrow.

We move Saturday.

And I am on the pill.

But hey! Hopefully I won’t be bleeding!

Updates

by Veronica on February 27, 2008

in Life

Tomorrow is a big day.

To begin with I have a doctors appointment to get the strange bleeding looked at. I headed off to the after hours doctor on Saturday to get checked for pregnancy (negative. blech). The doctor there diagnosed me with a bladder infection, even though I have NO symptoms of infection whatsoever. (Pain? Burning? Nope, nothing)

So, off to the regular doctor to ask for a blood test and an ultrasound. Today is CD 19 and I have spent 17 of those days bleeding. Good times.

The packing is almost under control. We have our final inspection of the house tomorrow and hopefully everything will be fixed and cleaned.

We will be moving from 8am Saturday morning onwards, so wish us luck! Both sets of parents are helping us move (thanks guys!) and we should have everything sorted by bedtime Saturday. I hope.

If not, I have 3/4 of a bottle of tequila in a box somewhere, we can always get drunk together.

Thats all. It has been a big few days and the blog has been sorely neglected.

However, I have remembered to charge the camera batteries so that I can photograph as we move. You know, so you can all laugh at me.
