Give Away Time !!!We Have A Winner!!!

Did you know that it is give away time again? No? I didn’t either until I was over at the lovely Witchypoo’s place reading.

Seems that I need to work out something to give away!

Because I am in Australia, how about I give you $25 via paypal? That way I don’t have to worry about the postage costs, or remembering to go to to the post office. Also, it means that everyone can enter no matter where you are. I’m nice like that.

To be eligible for the $25 (and yes, you HAVE to read this bit) I want to know what you would do if money was no object for you.

And I do mean, if money was NO object at all.

I will be very interested to hear what everyone has to say.

Now, I do know that some people have an objection to paypal, so if that is the case, I’m sure you and I could work something out. A starbucks gift card or an online gift voucher or something. I’m not phased, as long as it is all to the tune of $25AU.

Also, you can grab yourself a second entry (because who doesn’t need TWO chances at money!) by subscribing to my feed.

Everyone wants to know about my issues with Amy sleeping and how we can’t seem to fall pregnant for a second time. Hey, you can always unsubscribe if after a week you decide you hate me.

Right?

I will draw the winner Saturday using a random number generator to pick the winner. I will then get in touch with you via email, or you can check back here to see who won. I am going to draw it Saturday because of the time differences. I mean, you would hate to get here Friday your time zone, to find out that entries had closed.

Anyway, go on and leave me a comment about what you would spend unlimited amounts of money on.

You can find the list of participants here.

Can I just say…all of the above? Wow, there are just so many things. I think I would build a small ecofriendly home and hire a designer to organize it and make it ultra efficient. I would come up with a financial plan to help out family and friends and provide us with a stable future. I would set up some type of fund for several charities, my church. I would allow my husband to retire and pay him back for everything he has done for me…the list goes on and on.

Health. Full and complete health check-ups. All tests. Fix the teeth. Get the glasses. Remove the questionable bumps on skin. Laser the extra hair off body parts and find a way to put hair back on head. You get the general idea.

This would included ALL family members. Up and down and across the family tree.

Remember money no object. Actually why not open it up to all of the USA. no, the world. WOW what an idea. At ages 10, 40, and again at 70.

  65. Tanya Avatar

I would use it to change the world.

Firstly, I would take over the world because I could buy off the world leaders. (They love money, right?)

THEN I would go to the poor countries and set up their economy and cure all the diseases so we could ‘make poverty history.’ I wouldn’t make them as well off as the rich countries (because there has to be rich and poor so the world goes around) but I would build them all samll houses to live in and set them up with jobs and clothing stores etc.

THEN I would set up breeding programs for the animals which are in danger of becoming extinct. I would set up a zoo type place where breeding can happen for all sorts of animals and people could come and learn about them. It would include a theme park.

THEN I would sort out the crisis in the war torn countries, and remove the troops. (send em home) There has to be SOME way to peacefully resolve the situation.

THEN I would bring in some rules.

    1. There will be a minimum and maximum limit on what average households could earn (so people don’t become too rich or too poor, but there’s still a wide economy)

    2. All children in the world will attend school for normal hours, will wear uniform and will be taught world history along with history of their country, all the other subjects and they will learn about every religion in the world, no matter which one they believe in. They will learn trade subjects as well as academic ones, and there will be compulsary child studies and sex ed. They will also have the funding to use and buy equipment and attend things that other schools participate in. (Such as camps and rockeisteddfod type things.)

    3. There will be after school programs and weekend programs for games and activities to keep children off the streets.

    4. All cars will be updated and made eco friendly, no matter what the cost.

    5. The pulp mill will be built to the requirements of TASMANIAN PEOPLE, not the government or Gunns. It will be the worlds best, and most eco friendly. And it will not be right near any city or town.

    6. Free to air TV will include a cartoon channel, a sports channel, a music channel and a documentary channel.

    7. Each family/person will receive food vouchers, petrol vouchers and power vouchers included in their pay so that it can’t be gambled/spent etc.

    8. Each family will receive free healthcare for a specified amount each year. (This includes the dentist.)

    9. Alcohol will be packaged as standard drink sizes, in strong or weak percentages (for a choice) and in smaller packaging so people can choose the amount that they drink.

    10. Work will start at 8am and finish at 4. So will school. No childcare necessary.

    11. Girls will take classes on confidence and self esteem and participate in activities that help them realize that they are worth something. Boys will also take this class. They will be seperate.

    12. Contraception will be free.

    13. Hospitals will be expanded for the needs of every patient.

    14. University degrees and tafe courses will be governemnt funded.

    15. The breeding programs I mentioned before will offer a small amount of animals for sales to hunters and poachers but hunting and poaching any WILD animal is a death sentence.

    16. No war. Ever.

Once this was all done and I was satisfied, I would give all the leaders ther jobs back, provided that any decision they make that I don’t agree with will be stopped.

Then I would finish our house to the way that we would like it, (including swimming pool, outside hot tub, sauna, party shed, car shed, projector tv, nice furniture and ornaments, livestock, vegie garden and garden) and build on another rumpus room for a playroom.

Then I would give money to family members and friends for them to buil their own ouses and go on hlidays, or buy new cars etc.

THEN I would donate $3m to each charity.

THEN I would take Nathan and Jordy on a holiday around the world for 2 months to places we would like to go and I would take Jordy to Santaclause land in Finland to meet Santa.

Ummmm….there’s heaps more but I cant really fit it in.

But I don’t really want that much money 🙂

Oh wow 174 comments already – I gotta get in on this giveaway thing for next time and ride the wave of comment love!
Anyway what would I do if money was no object? I’d give it away. Sure I’d buy myself and my family everything we ever wanted as well, but I’d give it away – to every family member and friend who needs or wants something to make them happy, to every good cause I can think of. I can’t imagine anything more fun than calling up the girls kinder teacher and telling her she can spend $10000 on whatever toys she wants!!!!!

I’m a pretty simple person and besides really good shoes, I wouldn’t want too many material things. What I would really appreciate is maid service. Seriously, I’d love a really clean house, but with two small boys and one big one (the hubby) I can’t keep up with the dirt and grime. If money were no object, I’d hire someone like Alice from the Brady Bunch!

What a great giveaway. Thanks for your generosity.

If money was no object, I would buy a house in a nice neighborhood. I would ship a bunch of nice stuff to my friends who work in a 3rd world country. I would adopt children from Haiti and Vietnam. I would buy everything local, organic. I would put solar panels on our house. It would be so fun!!

If money were no object I would completely fund a massive renovation in Uganda so every family had decent housing, running water, ample food, and adequate medicine. Oh, and I’d buy myself a lake house with a couple jet skis.

If money was no object, we would own a house. We would own that house in a neighborhood with good schools. Even so we might still send our kids to a private school. We would tour that country whenever time allowed. Then we would tour the world whenever time allowed. I would make plenty of genealogical excursions along the way. There is more I could think of, but I’ll stop there. Because if I don’t then I’ll get more fitful for my husband to be done with his PhD program already.

If money was no object, my husband would not work. We would live on a huge piece of land and be able to spend all the time we wanted with our children. Teaching them about God and life and giving them an education. We would be able to take trips and play and just spend time together.

If money was no object, I have a feeling we would be in fulltime missions. It would be hard not to want to help everyone we can in much dire circumstances than ourselves.

Well, since I have two juniors looking at colleges and two more left to go, I’d say the sky is the limit to them for their educations. We wouldn’t be looking at who offers the most money and spending hours applying for tiny scholarships to help make up the difference. Wouldn’t that be great??

  96. Patti Avatar

If money was no worry, I don’t know that I would live much differently. I would love not having a mortgage or car payments. I’d like to travel more with and without the kids. And the stress of retirement and college would be gone! That would be amazing!

  97. nottryingforaboy Avatar

    1. Have more children. Probably by both giving birth and adoption. I was adopted and sometimes I go through the adoption pages at orphanages and want to bring a set of siblings here.

    2. Hire a housekeeper/nanny. Not because I don’t want to be with my children, but I’d love to have someone here I could leave my youngest two with when my oldest has therapy. I hated to pack up the two when it was bitter cold this past winter for a half hour speech session or interrupt naps.

    3. Travel.
