Because I have been accused of being ‘stingy’ with the photos.

Breastfeeding: AKA: Drink or drown.

I have an over-active let down. Every time my milk lets down, I end up trying to drown or bathe him in it. Poor kid.

019

Asleep on the couch with Daddy. They were asleep in almost identical postitions, however Nathan would prefer I not post photos of his nipples on my blog.

Spoilsport.

More photos for me to steal, you really should email me photos you know, what if the Blogger Association accuses me of stealing, I might be thrown in jail, how embarrassing for the family then.

Kat February 1, 2009 at 6:50 pm

God, he’s SO beautiful!!!
LOL at his little milk-covered head. I have two ducts on each breast which are NOT on my nipple, (weird, right?) and sometimes he’d get this with a strong let-down even if he was firmly attached. Poor guy got it in the eye so many times, no wonder he gave it up early.

He is a spoilsport! Come on! That Isaac is very cute. (And when Bad was tiny I had to pump a bit off before I could feed him, because the first spray of milk freaked him out)

The kid is beyond cute. For reals.

(I don’t know if you’ve tried this, but my best friend had the same over let down problem and would just espress a bit before nursing. It seemed to do the trick.)

When my daughter was feeding, I had on one of those ‘feeding’ bras, you just released the cup and voila, out pops the boob. One time I was soaked before I could undo it, so it was slippery and wet. She was crying, I was rushing, and my hand slipped and I nailed her right in the eye. Then I was crying and she was happily sucking! Oh the guilt I felt!!

I totally remember “choking” my little girl in the engorged stage. I would soak my poor shirts and not even know it. And at work, when other babies were nearby, the faucet would turn on. Super funny! My C wouldn’t let me post pics of his nipples either. =) spoil sports all of them!

river February 2, 2009 at 7:57 pm

Beautiful photos. I had the over-active let down too, while I was still in hospital the nurses would have me lie down and put T belly down on my tummy, hoping that would slow down the flow. It didn’t. T would get two huge mouthfuls without even sucking, then she’d be full and fall asleep. At one point the nurses weighed her before and after a feed to make sure she was getting enough. I remember having a baby on one boob and a jug pressed up against the other to catch the milk spurting out. I hope it settles down for you soon.

Did all that hair give you heartburn?

And the term “drink or drown” is going to get worked into my collection of well-used phrases, even if I have to make up situations wherein it can be referenced.

Too funny, I remember the drink or drown stage, hope you get through it soon! My little guy would stop drinking too soon because of it, getting only the fore milk, but not the hind milk. We discovered this problem when he started projectile pooping across the room – apparently his tummy was upset!
