Way back, a very very long time ago (as Amy would say), I attended the Bloggers Brunch and received some vitamins from Blackmores to trial. Now, I could have written about it in the first week of taking the vitamins, but I figured I would take them for a while and see what I thought, and then report back. I wasn’t procrastinating, I was researching.
Actually, I filmed a vlog about Blackmores a month ago, but I did it outside and the wind noise was bad and I never got around to editing it properly. So now I’m catching up.
I received a range of stuff to try, fish oil for the kids, regular multivitamins for Nat and I, etc etc.
Look, I love Blackmores products anyway. Given the budget, I will always choose their stuff in the supermarket.
Reporting back on the products I got:
Conception vitamins: I haven’t conceived yet, but I can’t blame the vitamins for that. Instead it’s my sucky body’s fault. I’m still taking the vitamins regularly, just in case, but I’ve spent the last few months catching every virus going around, so I can’t tell you if they’re making me feel healthier.
Women’s bio balance: AWESOME. I get thrush, a lot (overshare? Maybe) and it drives me batty. I eat a lot of yogurt and I always have canesten in the medicine cabinet, but the women’s bio balance has to be the best thing I’ve ever taken. I take a tablet a day, or two tablets if I forget for a week and then get thrush and it sorts everything out immediately. I am just about out of tablets and these are the ones I will be buying for myself every month, come hell or high water. Probably both, given the way the world is going.
Women’s multivitamin: I keep forgetting to take it. ‘Nuff said. Sorry guys. I bet it’s awesome.
Stress complex thing: (I should go and get the box and tell you what it is properly, but that would break my train of thought.) I kept forgetting I had this one, which is a shame, as the last few weeks saw me with homicidal PMS and I bet my family would have preferred I wasn’t screaming at them. I have remembered a few times and it does calm me down, while also giving me a burst of energy (yay B vitamins) and this is probably the one I need to take immediately every morning. I need all of the energy I can get.
Kids Fish Oil: This one was great, until my kids decided that they were going to steal the bottle and eat all of the fish oil at once. Plus side: It didn’t poison them, or make them sick. Downside: I then didn’t have any fish oil to dole out over the month and report back on. PS, I need a locking medicine cabinet.
Conclusion:
Blackmores is pretty cool and I like their vitamins.
