Despite Isaac insisting that he is NOT A BABY at every opportunity, I am a bit loathe to give up baby care products. After all, he is still in nappies and I don’t care what anyone says, he is MY baby still.
I told this to the PR company who asked if I’d like to try the Butterfly Essence Natural Skin Care products, but they seemed more than happy to have their products tested by me instead, which I was fine with.
Now, I get a lot of products in the mail and some I write about and others I don’t. Or I write about them months later, when I remember that I was meant to. Skin care products inevitably fall to the bottom of my to-review list and end up at the back of my cupboards, relatively unused.
However, Butterfly Essence wowed me and so I’m writing about them pretty much immediately.
Firstly, the smell. Lavender essential oil is one of my very favourite things – but only the really good quality oils, not the cheaper one, which makes me want to throw up. The smell of the products is amazing and I’ve been using the baby wash myself, instead of regular shower gel or soap.
I haven’t tested the shampoo yet, as Amy’s hair needs washing only very rarely (she is blessed with silky soft hair, that pretty much self cleanses with warm water) and Isaac screams if I get his hair wet. Hair washing is not my favourite thing in the world, so we do it as little as possible.
But the powder! The powder is amazing. Not made of talc, instead it is kaolin based (Australian white clay) and scented with lavender oil. So fantastic when I’m changing 10 nappies a day (bowel issues) and needing something to use on his bum.
In fact, we’ve used most of the powder already and I’m planning on buying some more, when I get a chance.
And now that I’ve looked at the website properly, I may have to try out the Raspberry Body Wash too…
