Way back in July, I attended the Bloggers Brunch and was given a single bed Protect-a-bed cover to bring home, to try on Isaac’s brand new bottom bunk, with its brand new mattress. I was super grateful for this, considering I’d just bought brand new mattresses (did I mention the brand new mattresses?) for the kid’s new-to-us bunks and I was a little wary of how Isaac would go with leaky nappies and milk and etc.
I figured that I would give the protector a few months to deal with urine, milk and etc and see how it went, before blogging about it. Sure, you could call me lazy, I like to say I’m thorough.
Anyway, moving on.
The other morning, Isaac woke up and when I laid him down to change his nappy, I realised that somehow, he had managed to get urine all the way up to his shoulders and was practically drenched in it. I was a little concerned for his bed, but my first priority was getting Isaac clean, which he HATES, even more than he hates wee.
After all the screaming had stopped, I went in to change his bed. Yep, the sheet and cover were soaked through as well (question: how much urine does one little boy bladder hold? answer: A HELL OF A LOT).
HOWEVER. The mattress? The mattress was fine. It didn’t even smell weird.
Therefore, I can safely say that the Protect-a-bed mattress cover does protect from the super urinating powers of small boys and spilled milk.
Test completed.
