I’ve been home for a few days now and I’m still decompressing from the conference. I’ve had a quick glance over the business cards I collected and know most of the women and read them already.
The excitement of the conference has blended into a giant blur of beautiful faces and excellent conversation and I can’t quite work out who I spoke to – I can remember your faces and real names, but I’ll be damned if I can remember the blog addresses that go with them! I had so much fun speaking to everyone, it’s been a while since I was thrown in with a crowd quite that welcoming and you were all so very lovely.
So this is just a quick post so that I can ask you for a favour.
If I spoke to you this weekend and you didn’t get a chance to give me your business card, would you like to leave your link in the comments? And if you missed speaking to me – I tried really hard to talk to as many people as I could, but sadly, I’m not superwoman- then would you like to leave your link?
I would love to visit as many of your blogs as possible and I know that my business card pile isn’t as large as I hoped it would be, so I thought I would offer up a place to share your blog address with me, that I can come back to over the next few weeks.
And if, for whatever reason, you weren’t at AusBlogCon, then I would still love for you to link yourself up.
Let’s call it almost an unofficial delurking day.
So go on, fess up? What’s your blog?
I wasn’t there, but I watched the madness on Twitter so I ended up following a lot of you, and in turn have found a stack of new blogs! I love yours!
Twitter was pretty crazy wasn’t it? It kept me amused during the times I was meant to be quiet!
We didn’t get to chat at AusBlogCon unfortunately. You’re lovely smile did light up the room though and I’m looking forward to chatting with you more online now that we have meet, even if it was only in passing.
My blog: Reading Upside Down (www.readingupsidedown.com)
I’ll be calling back to this post to check out the other comment links too. Thanks for giving us a place to connect. 🙂
We did cross paths quite a bit didn’t we! I’m looking forward to reading more of your blog now too.
Aaaargh! Just noticed I wrote ‘You’re’ instead of ‘your’ just as I clicked submit. Sorry. 🙁
My blog http://nothingbyno-one.blogspot.com
Yay! (Sorry, the comment got caught in spam originally – a few have, my spam filter doesn’t like links)
I didn’t get to go to the conference unfortunately. But I’ll definitely be going next year (if I ever get a job).
I am really excited about the conference because I have really tapped into the Australian Blogging world yet and I am so excited to see there are so many of us 🙂
There are LOADS of aussie blogs now, it’s so fantastic.
I gave a detailed run down of Friday, Saturday and then some… I am sure I will read it again in a few months and cringe, but what the hell… I had a great time.
Wish I had a chance to chat to you a bit more.
🙂
I read it – I don’t think there is anything cringeworthy there! I’m glad you had a great time, we kept flitting past each other and not getting much of a chance to talk.
Hi Veronica
Thanks for all you did to make it such a fun day! I had a ball!
I am SO glad you had fun!
It sounds like you had a blast at the con! I wish, wish, wish I could have been there. Will there be another in 2012?
I’m terrible for lurking. I read so many great blogs and comment so little; I really need to quit being so lazy. Anyway, my blog’s linked above if anyone’s interested!
There will be something amazing happening with the blogging festival in Melbourne 2012. Not affiliated with the conference, but even more fun hopefully.
You totally stole that line from me 😉
*unofficially delurks*
erm… 🙂
Okay, I admit it, I did steal it.
I don’t think I spoke with you at the conference, but I thought you did a fantastic job!
No, I don’t think we got a chance to talk, but I meant to say that I thought your business cards were FANTASTIC. I really liked them.
I wasn’t at the conference because I’d only been blogging for about a week. I’m at http://nothingbyno-one.blogspot.com/
You’ll have to come next year 🙂
I’ll definitely try to make it.
I wasn’t at the conference since it was a half way across the world from me 🙁 but I did follow it on twitter. I’m at http://www.collegeandanovel.blogspot.com
I love that even in the US, you were following our tweet streams. That is so so cool.
I think we might have chatted 😛
hugs
Yes, maybe just a little?
Hi Veronica
I was there and we spoke but i have no idea if i gave you a card.Blurry – yes!
I’m at http://www.segoviadreams.blogspot.com and http://www.theiloveyousong.blogspot.com
big hug and hope you are doing ok
Suz xxx
No! I didn’t get your card. I should have made up a badge saying ‘I want your business cards!’ and thrust a pocket at everyone!
We crossed paths many times and smiled at each other and I do have a photo with you, but I don’t think we actually got a chance to talk. I was impressed with your self-confidence throughout your conference and I love reading your blog.
My blog is Singular Insanity at http://www.singularinsanity.com
I know, I kept looking at you and thinking ‘I MUST talk to her’ and then we never actually got there. Very frustrating. I needed another day!
*Sigh* I’ve been trying to avoid all of these glowing post-conference posts – am so, so bummed out at not being able to be there….
Glad you had a great time though 🙂
Next year maybe?
Would have been great to be there, but since I’m living oh, I dunno, 14 000km away? Not sure of the distance… Would have loved to have met you all in person!
Damn that whole distance thing.
I have no idea who I spoke to other than the ones who gave me business cards. I spoke to one woman a few times and have forgotten her name and blog – I can tell you everything about her except for that one small detail. She was lovely. I wish I could remember it.
I can remember you, because of the elevator and Tricky!
Well, you know me already, but I’m at http://playeatlearnlive.blogspot.com/ just for kicks. Although I wasn’t there, I was both following the Twitter streams from the conference and playing along at home in the #notatausblogcon and #pityparty streams 😉
And you know I’m coming next year … in Melbourne? (Pleeez?)
The notausblogcon made me laugh, lots. You guys were so funny.
Hi, I am officially delurking too! I wasn’t at the conference, and since I have a sewing blog it’s quite unrelated to your content, but I love your blog. It’s so realistic and down to earth, and much more refreshing than some of the blogs I read where their kids are angels every day and life is great every single day. Yeah right…
Anyway glad you had a good time since you were so apprehensive before hand, sorry it’s ended with you sick though
I read all kinds of things that aren’t related to here 🙂 It’s the beauty of the internet, I can be as eclectic as I want!
Not delurking, just sooo glad you had such a wonderful day! One day… one day we will meet, I can *feel* it! xx
One day, definitely. We’re not allowed to *not* meet.
Hi Veronica,
I did say hi to you at the Dinner at your table when you’d been given Bridal shower ‘bits’
I gave out BookMarks with a chocolate heart.
did you get some?
If not, would love to see you a couple. You’d need to email me your mailing address.
I thought you looked happy all day.. Yet you’ve said that wasn’t quite the case!
Enjoy the weekend ahead NOT at a conference! X
I know! It was the first chance I’d had to speak with you all day.
I didn’t get a bookmark, but that’s okay – posting them to everyone would end up expensive surely.
didnt attend conference but read your blog. Mines growing weeds at the moment but will get back to it one day…..http://blogofmichele.blogspot.com/
I’ve got one growing weeds at the moment too. Poor thing, I should really pay it some attention.
Hi there, recently found your blogs and they are ace! Some self-promotion now, you can read mine here: http://workingatperfect.blogspot.com/
Cheers,
Carl.
I LIKE your blog!
So many of are suffering from this decompression this week, aren’t we?
Still feeling the AusBlogCon love! http://nappydaze.blogspot.com/2011/03/aussie-blogger-extravaganza-and.html
Oh definitely. I think it’s the crash back down to reality now that we’re all home again and we only have memories and stainless steel wipes strewn everywhere.
Thanks for all of your hard work in creating what was a fantastic weekend. I did meet you there, but I was all flustered by meeting someone so amazing that I don’t think I said anything coherent, I do remember gushing about how well you speak l and that I loved your voice! See you in Melbourne next year.
I remember our conversation! Probably because I was so thrilled to be told I speak well. And because I meant to ask if the food thing had gone off smoothly for you, but forgot!
I’m so there next year. It sounds like you helped pull off an incredible event.
Got to strengthen the Tassie numbers in Melbourne next year too! LOL!
Mine is http://www.threelilprincesses.com 🙂
Definitely! We need a big Tasmanian presence.
I wasn’t at AusBlogCon sadly (felt like the only kid who didn’t get to go to school camp!!) but I’ve been following you for a while now… so thought what the heck?!
http://www.petajo.com
I got to meet you, I am so thankful for that, because you rock! Even though I ‘knew’ you via twitter and blogging, I had forgotten about the ehlers danlos syndrome (I’m sorry), which to me, makes you even more awesome. You didn’t complain, or sigh, or point it out, even though you would have been entitled to, and I doubt anyone would have minded; you just went on having fun and sharing that gorgeous smile. Also, if I’ve never said it before: You write beautifully. I’ve just been catching up on some posts, and it’s as if I’m there, in the room/chook pen/wherever with you. Much love xo
