There is a point you hit when you’re in the depths of insomnia. It comes around 4am for me – that point in which you’re left wondering if maybe you’re better off just getting out of bed and giving up on sleep altogether. Pre children, this was something I did often. Post children, sleep is precious enough that even if you’re not actually getting any, you should pretend and hope that it happens magically.

Oh these are lovely Veronica. You are a very talented young woman. Your Mother must be so proud of you…. oh wait
Ha.
She is isn’t she? I was just thinking, she couldn’t have taken these herself!? But she did!
Brilliant photos.
Thanks 🙂
Kim – I love it that you make me laugh out loud. Laughing aloud in a bedroom whilst husband snores loudly as ever, lying on bed with laptop keeping my legs warm. Laughing aloud alone is a funny mad feeling. Now I am writing crap and way off topic.
Veronica the clarity in your photo’s – just fantastic.
Isaac has the most determined chin. I wonder who the stubborn one is from whom he inherited it…..
I could join in on Sunday Selections couldn’t I. But need to get out of house more or take bizarre shots from within the house elst you would all see how truly messy it really is. Also remembering to buy batteries for camera would assist for my basic easy peasy camera. A goal – I need goals.
Does this mean it is Sunday where you are? I get very confused about time zones and the like.
I am always amazed Veronica at your plethora of talents for one so young. I imagine in twenty years time you will be a woman who has influenced many.
Thankyou 🙂
Isaac gets his determination from me I think, he is incredibly stubborn, which is going to see him in good stead when he’s an adult.
Re batteries, I found that the rechargeable ones lasted longer in the camera than regular ones. They’re more expensive, but better value.
Oh these are gorgeous! Also… so so waaaaant your puppy! *pouts*
beautiful photos. LOVE the butterfly and the puppy. I also love that book. It is one of the few I managed to read last year.
Your photos are amazing. Just lovely. I get insomnia too. I often end up getting up early and writing, but I tend to regret it later when I need some catch-up rest.
Hey Veronica, those are all gorgeous photos! I LOVE the butterfly.
Look at all that wonderful hair!
I love the light in your first pic. Simply gorgeous!
Gorgeous photos.
As for insomnia, ugh. I hear you. 4am I hit the wall of despair.
Room was a book I read in 2 sittings last year. Loved it.
Hi Veronica,
Great photos! I too loved “Room”, awesome book! Little Isaac is adorable:)
Such photographic talent you have!
I love the butterfly.
What are those white flowers and the unopened red one?
I see David in Isaac, it’s the hair I think.
Lovely photos…the butterfly one is just gorgeous 🙂
Bonjour Veronica, have a nice day like your photos. Magnifique !
Bises
Love them all, especially Isaac and the puppy!
What lovely, lovely eyes Isaac has!
I see a certain resemblance in those puppy eyes, both human and dog child ones 😉 Beautiful photos.
Love the puppy and the butterfly. And words fail me when it comes to your son’s portrait…
Beautiful capture of the butterfly. And a lovely shot of Isaac. He’s gorgeous 🙂
Those photos are amazing! I’m the idiot who actually gets up at 4am. I just cannot stand to be in bed tossing and turning. The deep flaw in my plan is that the toddler has a sixth sense for when I’m out of bed and will join me. And instead of having pleasant, undisturbed quiet time. I get loud Dora time.
Oh, I hear you on the 4am thing! My trouble is that I often have such trouble getting to sleep, and wake often, and yet if I do manage to drop off between 6 and 7am I can find myself sleeping until 11am!! Not an option for you, I realise. I do remember those ‘zombie’ days!
And you have an Isaac too! Mine is now 25 years old (where did the time go?) and was just as delicious as a toddler as your gorgeous little boy!
Trust me, it can be hard to remember, when I look up at my six-foot-plus, broad-shouldered, bearded, younger son. They all said it, and they were right: make the most of your time with him. It really, really doesn’t last long.
HEY! I just bought that book for my kindle.
You are totally reading my thoughts again aren’t you? What am I thinking now????
I love those pictures! Have insomnia too lately with kids waking up in the middle of the night for a number of reasons and then my mind goes rumbling so I eventually pick up a book and now that I’ve started Patrick Rothfuss’s the Name of the Wind, I’m actually glad when they wake me up and i get a chance to read in the dead of the night, but boy am I tired sometimes when the book is put away by day!
i am with Tanya..
love them all..
but Issac and the Maisie and Ella photos are my favourite..
