A Return

by Veronica on January 4, 2009

in Amy,Pregnant. Finally.

So it’s been a long time since I did Weekly Winners. Do you think it could be because prior to Friday, I had a camera I didn’t much like using?

Anyway, not much has been happening. We went to the park for lunch Saturday and Amy had a a lot of fun.

Amy Sitting

I went a little bit mad with my macro setting and had a ball. Unfortunately it was too cold for any bees to be out or goodness knows I would have been trying my best to snap them as well.

Pink Rose

Amy and I played on the swings together. I was secretly hoping that the downward force of the swing would get my labour started, but no luck. Sigh.

Swinging

Toes. Because I just couldn’t resist.

Foot!

It’s nice to be able to snap photos from a distance. I was about 30m away from Amy here.

Playing

A twisty turny tree down by the rivulet. Everything is lovely and green, but there is still no water flowing through there. Bloody drought.
Twisty Tree

Loving my macro setting.
Little Daisy

Playing with the manual focus because I couldn’t help myself.
Experimenting

And finally, here I am 37 weeks and 2 days along. I can’t breathe anymore, walking is horrid and I am permanently tired. I think we can safely say that I am very VERY ready to be done and to have my baby here. At least once he is here sleeping and eating will at least be a possibilty, even if it is a remote one. Plus, breathing -  that all too essential thing, will be much easier. *puff pant puff pant*

I would like to point out that at my antenatal appointment on Friday, I was measuring 35cm – about 2 weeks behind where I *should* be at (if I was average, and apparently I am not). For comparison’s sake, at 2 days past full term with Amy, I was measuring 33cm. I am officially bigger now that I have ever been before.

Official due date is the 25th of January. MY due date (based on ovulation and when I got a positive test) is the 22nd of January. Still much too far away in my opinion.

Which leaves me with one last thing.

Can’t I be done now? Please?

37 weeks and 2 days

Look at that BELLY! I’m actually jealous – I just look fat right now at almost 14 weeks :)

I’m thinking labor thoughts for you. Healthy pain :)

I love the photo of you and Amy on the swings! So, so sweet.

When I was at the end of my pregnancy with Julia, I actually felt disappointed in a strange way that it was coming to an end. I loved being pregnant. With Lucy, I could not wait for it to be over. Maybe it’s because I knew how much fun was in store once she was here or maybe it was the extreme discomfort. Probably the discomfort. And pain. It may not feel like it now, but your beautiful boy will be here before you know it. I’m glad you got your camera warmed up. I can’t wait to get a peek at him!

To answer your question: If it were up to me, my dear, I’d say YES! YES, YOU CAN BE DONE NOW! However, I’m pretty much powerless in that realm. Good luck getting Little Man out very soon!!

Your belly is beautiful.

How fun to have a new toy to play with. I am crap with my camera, hubby tells me it does many cool things but we’ve had it for a while and I am still to get the hang of it.

Hope you are relieved from your discomfort soon because I know how awful it is but your boy may have other ideas! The longest that 1 of mine has kept me waiting is 41+5. How far did Amy go?

My gosh! When did Amy get so tall and big girl looking? The baby Amy is definitely gone now.
I finally found the instruction book for my camera, it has so many functions, my head is spinning. I’m still confused about the macro setting. do you have to get your camera in close to the subject? Or focus in from some distance away? I’m sure the instructions are clear, but everytime I open the book, my brain goes on holiday. Guess I’ll have to carry the book around with me while I practise.

Marylin January 4, 2009 at 11:42 am

Damn I’m jealous of that gorgeous belly shot!! :)

Amy is looking gorgeous and so are you! I hope the lil one comes out soon… I wanna see pics of him NOW! :P

Beautiful pics! How wonderful that you now have a camera that you love. And in time for “his” arrival!

I remember that feeling of being so “over it” that I couldn’t breathe, walk, move or function. Toto was nearly 2 weeks overdue and I was working up until I went into labor. Uggh.

So…. GOOD LUCK! I hope hope hope that you don’t have to wait until your due date (Toto was my first, which made him more likely to be overdue) and that all goes well.

It will be over soon. Talk sweetly to that baby boy. Have to add that didn’t work for me, my firstborn was induced at 43weeks (no that isn’t a typo!) and the second at 41 weeks as there was no sign he was going to come out any sooner than his big brother did ;-)

Beautiful pictures, might have to try saving up for a camera with a macro facility myself, it looks so good.

Jeanette January 4, 2009 at 4:56 pm

Oh beautiful belly!! I’m thrilled that you have a camera in time for the baby :)
Love the macro shots, especially the rose, it’s beautiful!

ooooh beautiful photos missy!!!

Love the last one, mine does not look like that yet!!! (You do not look that big from the photo on the swings)

I am also 2 weeks behind according to ‘them’ which would make me have gotten a positive test 4 days after it was conceived. Which doesnt make sense as I had already missed my AF. Go with your date…

Mine is 25th of May. (still dont know what we are having…is exciting)

Ooooh…. nice camera! Very pretty shots indeed.
Thanks for the kind words…. I really hope that that baby of yours comes out sooner rather than later (we have the same due date too btw, I’m just lucky enough to get mine out early) but it’s a very nice looking bump you have there! I can’t wait to see the little guy who’s living inside!

Your belly makes me want to be pregnant again. I wonder if I could convince my husband that your cute belly is a good enough reason to get knocked up? Yeah, didn’t think so either.

Great shots, Victoria (remember when I called you that once? that was funny!)

Love, love!

nikki January 5, 2009 at 1:12 am

I feel ya on the breathing part. This girly girl likes to stretch her feet as far as she can under my ribs making it not only painful, but impossible to breathe.

Amy is to freaking cute for words.

P.S. I cannot believe you are 37 weeks and 2 days! :) Yay! Isn’t it crazy that you are one week ahead of me, but my little one was born 8 weeks ago? She’ll be 36 weeks corrected age on Tues, but almost two months old! Crazy! Age in days, gestational age, and corrected age are all so confusing to those who have no clue about premature babies.
