in Pregnant. Finally.

And still very much pregnant.

After a big scan this morning, the doctors have determined that everything is fine. My cervix is still nice and long and closed, with no funneling. The baby is active and growing well and my placenta is healthy and away from my cervix.

They have no idea what caused me to lose the mucus plug, but they suspect that it was the infection that I had.

I’m not on bedrest, just ‘light’ rest. IE: I get to have Nathan do all the lifting of the washing baskets and the vacuuming.

The baby flipped head down while I was in the hospital, so I can officially stop complaining about feet in my bladder. My entire belly has dropped too, so I can almost breathe properly again.

I have been told to be extra vigilant and to ring the hospital if there is anything going on that doesn’t feel right.

You have no idea how pleased I am to be home. I’m tired (hopsital isn’t exactly the most restful place, heh) and strung out and CANNOT wait for bedtime tonight.

As I write this, Amy is having a tantrum because THINGS AREN’T WORKING RIGHT (think she’s been stressed too?) and Nathan is cooking tea. Gotta love that man.

Thanks so much to Mum who updated my blog and also to everyone who commented and thought of me. You have no idea how much it meant to me to come home and see all my emails. I’m still trying to work my way through them!

You guys are awesome.

Trish October 13, 2008 at 3:49 pm

such wonderful news you are home and baby is still cooking, safely and soundly.
Be a lady of leisure and let Nathan take good care of you … he is a keeper by the sounds of it.

Such a relief to know the sweet power of prayer can work speedily when it’s really needed. I’m glad the pressure is off your bladder now with baby boy being head down and all, but now you’ll have him kicking the heck out of your ribs and stomach. sorry to hear Amy was stressed to the point of tentrums, (I thought she might be), but she’ll get over it. Truly, she will. By the time she starts school she won’t remember a bit of this.Keep your feet up.

Siobhan October 13, 2008 at 5:33 pm

lceel mentioned you on his blog, so I had to come over and add another hug and prayer. Milk the “light rest” for all you can get, love. Sit at the computer all day and surf.

I had to laugh at the Cadbury photie. I have one of those too from a while ago, but it was cinnamon instead. Then days later, it was damp potted plant soil. EVERYwhere. Took me 90 mins to clean the bloody stuff off everything.

Anyway…what a relief you’re doing OK that was a heart stopper just reading it!

Hi!!! Nice to see you’re back! (and ya front!)

What a scary time! I had a talk to my Nathan about it and he was talking about prem babies and incubators and I was like ‘ARRRGGHGHHH!!’ We are so lucky that we live in a modern, western world where doctors can do amazing things! The best way is to have a baby cooked to perfection though, isn’t it?

Thanks Kim for updating and the well wishing worked!!!
