Moving forward in leaps and bounds

in Evelyn

This morning, as a kitten napped in front of the fire, Evelyn commando crawled over to her, grabbed her by the head and then shoved her in her mouth. When I rescued the kitten, Evelyn rolled over onto her back, looked at me and clapped her hands.

She’s very clever, this baby of mine.

Tomorrow she has bloods to check for markers of a neuromuscular disease. We will hold her flailing body down (again), while the nurses poke her with needles (again) and we try not to take the screaming too much to heart (again). Holding my baby through a blood draw is one of my least favourite things to do, beaten only narrowly by holding my baby during a lumbar puncture and sawing off my own feet without anaesthetic.

But as far as Evelyn goes, she’s doing really well. She tries to eat the kittens, tangles herself up in towels left on the floor, plays peekaboo and claps her hands.

What more could I ask for?

Last week:

She likes to eat her toast reclined sideways in her bouncer, head resting against the edge. She giggles when I kiss her tummy and is so very pleased to see her siblings, especially Amy when she gets home from school.

I cannot stand how cute that is!!! She is so sweet and cute and I want to nom on her cheeks! I know this is hard for you, but each milestone, no matter how small….is just a blessing and so beautiful! I love it, and I love watching your children grow!!!

She is obviously very talented but likes to keep you guessing.

Trying to eat the kitty, playing peekaboo, lying sideways in the bouncer…you sure know how to put a smile on my face.
It’s lovely to hear of all the things Evelyn can do now.

So many things to say!!
1. Evelyn is divine
2. It bears repeating again….Evelyn is divine
3. Love the sideways, toast-eating recline….we can all learn from this!
4. Really hope that the tests tomorrow are negative
6. You have a beautiful voice! First time i’ve heard it in that video. It’s lovely. Evelyn must adore the sound of her mama’s voice.

Yay, Evelyn. She is so incredibly sweet! And I love listening to you talk. You should make more videos.

Aww so cute, sooo cute, so very, very cute. Did I mention cute? lol 😉 🙂

Miss Evelyn looks like a very happy baby in those pics 🙂
I hope she doesn’t eat the kittens because they’d taste too furry and they’re cute too lol 😉 🙂

Our cat has suddenly decided that anything that can roll around is a toy and she chases it around until she gets bored and moves onto the next thing lol

Hope all goes well with the blood testing xo

Oh my gosh, she is unbearably cute 🙂 I hope you can find some answers with this latest round of testing, answers that will lead to the end of these tests.
