Ranting

in Life

I would just like to take a moment out from my busy Sunday to declare my hatred of the new Mozilla. It freezes. It fucks up. It randomly encounters errors and closes.

Dear makers of Mozilla, making your browser prettier DOES NOT make us overlook the issues it has. Bring out a freaking patch to fix it already!

I also hate email programs. Specifically Microsoft Outlook Express (2003) which decided this morning to randomly NOT FUCKING WORK. Sure, I might have changed anti-virus programs, but how the hell does that affect my emails? And my email program?

Also, if the repair option in the setup continues to freeze, don’t delude yourself that anything is going to be easy.

I have uninstalled everything and I am starting from scratch. Someone hold me.

Also, dear Vista. I have never had any problems with you, but your backup/restore centre really sucks. I don’t like it. Seriously, telling me there was an error when I was on the VERY LAST DISK? So not cool.

So to summerise. I have spent all day on my computer, getting approximately nothing done and finding more things that need doing with every minute.

If I don’t reply to your emails, they got lost in cyber space and I didn’t receive them. Send help instead.

xx

Updated:

My email program is now working. Office is reinstalled (5th try lucky). I am going to bed.

I’m still shitty with Mozilla. And Sitemeter.

Oh and useless fact #102, my dog eats carrots. Raw ones.

I’m right there with you on Mozilla. I never had these problems with the older version.

I hate Vista. If it wasn’t for the fact that IE is really stable, I would use MSWindows, at all. Firefox has its issues – but the most stable I’ve found out there in non-MS land is SeaMonkey.

I was having computer issues a couple days ago and ended up doing a system restore. Didn’t occur to me that Mozilla might be the culprit. I’m still on XP though.

Hyphen Mama September 15, 2008 at 6:04 am

Yeah. I’m not so ducky with the new Mozilla, either!

I’ve heard things about Vista not being user friendly and since I’m not such a whizz at fixing things that go wrong, I’m sticking with XP. I’m used to it, if things crash or freeze I just turn off and go back to it the next day. Because usually a crash or freeze is a problem that my ISP is having, not something in my computer. I’m really very happy with my little ASUS laptop.

In some cases, computers and internet could be one of the best inventions by man ever (apart from chocolate and loo paper) but also one of the most frustrating. I work for an internet provider. Fun fun. Lol.

Viruses also do strange things to your computer even if you have gotten rid of them. Kinda like you still feel like crap when you get over a cold. Updating and installing things is a pain in the behind.

Have fun 🙂

P.S That post to Amy is lovely as well. Its funny to imagine yourself in the future, you’ll be looking back at photos of you guys now and will have brand new ones of your bub.

Wow, that sounds like a frustrating day
and carrots?
My dogs chew them up and spit them out.
If they get any leftover spag bol, they’ll sift through just to avoid any vegetables.

When we used to have a dog, and it got too fat, the vet had us feed it carrots. He loved them!!

Carrots, huh. Well, at least she will have excellent eyesight. Put one check in the “things I don’t have to worry about” column.

KAT September 17, 2008 at 4:22 pm

The dog we had when I was a kid ate carrots.
Thankfully, I didn’t download the new Mozilla.
Vista sucks my assballs. I just made up the word assballs for Vista.

you’ve been busy while I’ve been away from the computer, Congrats on the boyn verdict, but do watch out for pee in your eye (and most other places)when nappy changing!

Lovely post on AMY I’M TWO, I still think this is one of the best ages apart from the tantrums, last teeth coming through, lack of sleep etc lol!

I still have XP and have been told by my younger son to stick with it until MS are on at least the fifth version/amendment/fix of Vista. I have installed the latest Mozilla and the jury is still out on the result there. Can’t say I have noticed any really useful improvements and there are definitely some not-so-good aspects. Oh well, such is progress I suppose.

We had a cat that liked cooked carrot (and other veg) in her home cooked meats – lost her Mummy too early and had to be weaned early onto babyfood, yes the stuff in jars, and then fresh stuff. That was fun…!

Cheers

Interesting, I haven’t had any issues with Mozilla at all despite running the most recent build. I’m running it on XP on a couple machines without issue, and on Linux on a couple more… I wonder if it’s just a Mozilla on Vista issue?
